Global Tech LED has officially released it’s new IP67 rated modules. This rating is an upgrade to our current modules by putting our modules in a silicone epoxy resin that protects them from dust ingress and water. This IP67 rating is an upgrade that is offered on all of our modules, in every application, for a small up-charge.
What does IP67 mean?
The IP Code, International Protection Marking, IEC standard 60529, sometimes interpreted as Ingress Protection Marking, classifies and rates the degree of protection provided against intrusion (body parts such as hands and fingers), dust, accidental contact, and water by mechanical casings and electrical enclosures, and is published by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
The first number (6 in this case) refers to the intrusion of solid objects. The 6 in IP67 is a protection of dust ingress. The second number (7 in this case) refers to liquid intrusion. The 7 in IP67 is a protection against water immersion up to 1m for 30 mins.
This makes our modules suitable to withstand the elements.

When should I consider ordering IP67 rated modules?
IP67 rated modules are a good investment in all outdoor applications, especially in cases where the existing housing isn’t IP rated or has a poor IP rating. There are some cases where the modules are designed to be exposed to the elements (flushmounting). In that case, the IP67 upgrade would be highly suggested. In certain cases, such as some of our sports lighting applications, the modules are entirely exposed to the elements. In situations like these, you would require the IP67 rated modules in order for your product to work as expected.
